Europe River Cruise with Italy & Paris Day 1

Mount Gambier to Melbourne
After an early start, I had brekkie and then went out to unlock the workshop and get the coach out so that as people arrived from out of town and parked their cars at our depot we could start loading the luggage onto the coach. I thought I had plenty of time but it wasn’t long before they started to arrive, before we knew it everyone was there and we were on our way down to Lady Nelson Park to pick everyone else up. Everyone must have been excited about their trip as they were all early, after loading all the luggage on board I had a quick chat to the group about how the day would progress and we were on our way15 minutes early.
Our first stop was at Port Fairy for our morning tea, it was a great day and we had a nice spot down at the canal, the hot water urn was nice and hot so we all enjoyed our cuppa with some fruit cake. Everyone has been having a good old chat as this was the first day of a 32 day trip and there were quite a few people who didn’t really know one another, so today was a getting to know you sort of day.
It was time to get on the road again and head for Colac where we would be stopping for lunch. It was a nice drive through to Colac not a lot of traffic being a Sunday so we made good time. As we got closer to Melbourne the traffic got heavier and heavier and it was fairly slow going by the time we got into the city arriving at our hotel at about 4.30 pm.
After settling into our hotel gradually people made their way down to the bar area for a couple of drinks and a chat before we sat down to a beautiful dinner. After dinner everyone slowly drifted off to bed as we have a very big day tomorrow flying to Rome via Singapore.
