Today after breakfast we are heading to Venice stopping at a big place on the motorway that sells everything. We would call them a roadhouse in Australia but they are way bigger than that, we then had about a two hour drive before stopping at Verona y for a tour of the town and time for some lunch.
Verona is known all over the world for the love story of Romeo and Juliet. They also have the Roman Arena which at first glance reminds you of a small version of the Coliseum in Rome. They hold all sorts of events here with a maximum of 30,000 in the audience.
We had a walking tour around the town checking out all the places of interest including the balcony that Juliet came out on. At the completion of the tour we were given free time to find a place for lunch which was very easy to do. Some people gave their credit card a run and purchased others were happy to sit in the park and enjoy their time people watching.
When we all arrived at our meeting point we had quite a long walk to where the coach was parked which was a bit far for some people. In the future I believe they will have transfer buses running people to the area soon as this is a very new coach parking complex and there were lots of coaches parked here. Dinner tonight will be a 3 course dinner in the hotel dining room.
