After breakfast today we were on our way to Budapest to meet our ship, just a transit day today with the normal stops for morning tea and lunch at service centres along the highway. The weather today was not too good, raining most of the trip.

Today we are going through three countries starting off in Austria then onto Slovenia before ending up in Budapest in Hungary. By the time we arrived at our river ship it was about 3.00 pm and the weather had done a complete turn around, the sky had cleared and the rain had gone.

We were met by our crew who all came out to where the coach was parked to help everyone off the coach and to the ship with all their luggage. We all said our good byes to Rebecca our Tour Director and Edwardo our Driver, it was a bit sad to see them go after spending every waking hour with them for the last 10 days.

As we arrived at the ship and were all checked in we were all invited to the lounge area for afternoon tea, welcome drink and to have a look around the ship. After everyone was settled in the Cruise Director gave us an introductory talk all about the ship including the safety on the ship and where the life jackets are kept etc.

Dinner tonight was at 7.00 pm and what a dinner it was 4 courses with heaps of choices plus tea and coffee, red and white wine, beer and soft drink all complimentary while you are sitting at the table. Wow what a meal, well and truly lived up to everyone’s expectations!

At 9.00 pm there was an announcement that our ship was going to take us for a short cruise through Budapest at night time to see all the buildings and bridges all lit up. What a sight it was! Everyone was very happy with this little tour it was a four runner for what was to come in the next 13 days.

After the ship was docked again and everything quietened down some went back to the lounge for a couple of drinks or to the 24 hour complimentary coffee and tea bar or just went off to their room to finish unpacking and have an early night.
