Europe River Cruise with Italy & Paris Day 14

After our first night on the ship breakfast was served in fine style and everyone was up early as we were heading off to check out Budapest. During the one and a half hour tour all around town with our tour guides we heard explanations about a lot of things, some great photo opportunities and some free time.

We really enjoyed this tour as it included quite a few places, Heroes Square, the Parliament building over the bridges and up to the Fishermans Bastian which is on top of the Buda Hill. This looks out over the city with the most beautiful view of the river, bridges and many of the beautiful old buildings that look so different from this vantage point. I’m sure most people now know a lot more about Budapest than they ever thought they would. We were delivered back to the ship and once everyone was back on board it was time for our 14 day river cruise to begin.

It was now time for more food while we made our way to Vienna. Lunch time could include: a light lunch in the lounge or a full blown lunch in the dining room…. decisions, decisions. After lunch we had a fire drill, when the alarm sounds we all had to make our way to the top deck, (sun deck) and get our names crossed off. We also had to locate where the life jackets were kept and how they work. It was quite comical how it all happened, but everyone got the info that they required and that’s the main thing.

Our group were pleased to be on the ship as the 10 days leading up to this we were working our way around Italy. Although Italy was fantastic and we would do it again in a heartbeat it was full on and quite a lot of walking but it was the only way to see everything and at the end of the day I think most people enjoyed the experience. It was a relaxing afternoon quietly slipping along in the water looking at all the sights, fair dinkum these ships are so smooth you hardly know they are moving. Everyone just enjoyed the afternoon and afternoon tea time come and went and before we knew it, it was dinner time. As usual it was equivalent to any restaurant you can think of and more so needless to say it was great.
