South America - Day 13

Today was a free day for the most part. Most people just went walking, shopping and generally looking around town, it is a walking town there are no cars here. It was a relaxing day, we found a cafe and had some lunch, did some people watching before collecting our bags from the hotel and heading back to the train station to make our way back to Ollantaytambo on the train before the bus back to Cusco.

On arrival our guide informed us there was a festival going on in town and some of the roads were closed so we would have to walk about a kilometre and a half to get back to our bus. It was a bit of a bonus as we saw all the dancing and singing going on while our bus was trying to get to us. Sometimes you just have to go with it and enjoy what you are experiencing.

It was quite a long journey to get back to Cusco and by now it was starting to get dark. Driving through the mountains with lots of traffic I think most people were asleep. Eventually we arrived at our hotel in Cusco and headed straight to the restaurant for dinner and after a big day everyone went off to bed.
